Our office has what we call a "Yay God!" bulletin board. Jenn Hatfield put it up so that we could all share in what God was doing in and through our congregation as you guys communicate with us on connection cards.
Well, let's just call this a "Yay God" post!
This past weekend...
- We had 3 powerful worship services!
- 8 people (4 adults and 4 students) followed Jesus in believer's baptism... That makes 12 for our total number baptized so far this year!
- 4 young people were honored for receiving and continuing their education!
- One young person, who had been dabbling with witchcraft for the past year, started attending Gateway a few months ago. On Sunday night, she gave the Wiccan ring she had been wearing to one of our volunteers WITH THE REQUEST THAT SHE GET RID OF IT FOREVER!!! That volunteer happily threw it away at church... (I can think of no better place for that ring than a church trash can!) From now on, she'll be worshiping the God of nature instead of nature itself... Amen!!!.
- Gateway gave away $6,868 to disaster relief here in the United States... Furthermore, we had the biggest month financially we've had in four years. Let this be yet the latest in a lifetime of realizing and re-realizing the eternal truth that it is IMPOSSIBLE to out-give the "Father of the Heavenly Lights!!!"
Tonight...
- aXis Students will be rockin' the house at Gateway tonight (6:30-8:15 PM)
In the days ahead...
- One of our volunteers, who had his life forever changed on a short-term mission trip here in NC, is putting together, on short-notice, a trip to the Red Springs Mission Camp. That's awesome!!!
- We'll be sending 19 of our Gateway family members on a week-long mission trip to Summerville, SC (June 12-19)!!! If you had told me that this time last year, it would have been hard to believe.
- We'll be welcoming at least three more babies to join the three babies born into our Gateway family in the past 10 days!
- Gateway Kids' "Adventure Week" will be "jumpin'" in the auditorium July 11-18!
- We'll be taking 26 students and volunteers to BigStuf in Daytona Beach, FL (July 22-26)!
- We'll be launching a site re-design for our Gateway webpage... I believe you'll like it a lot!
- We'll be taking the steps to form our own music publishing service. Kevin and the rest of our team are cranking out some very good stuff, and it's time we introduced the rest of the world to the music we're singing each week!
Yep, we hope you're excited, Gateway... Now, get ready for more!!!
